The services are listed below:

HCT Minibus Hire Service

What is the HCT Minibus Hire Service?

The HCT Minibus Hire Service provides safe, accessible and affordable transport to community and ethnic groups of every kind in the London Borough of Hounslow. HCT makes a meaningful contribution to reducing social exclusion and increasing access across Hounslow and places beyond that residents of Hounslow wish to visit. Five of the six vehicle fleet are wheelchair accessible.

How do I become a member of HCT?

If your group is a community or a not-for-profit organisation then you can apply to HCT to become a registered Member to hire HCT minibuses.

Who can drive a HCT minibus?

When an organisation becomes a member of HCT it should arrange for one or more MiDAS qualified volunteers to be available to drive minibuses when required. If it is not possible to find a volunteer driver then HCT will endeavour to provide a driver.

HCT has to abide by a code of practice that applies to all Community Transport organisations. Authorised drivers of HCT minibuses must be between 21 years and 70 years and have a full UK driving licence that should ideally be without endorsements, although certain minor offences are allowable. In any case, there should be no prosecutions pending.

*All drivers of HCT minibuses must hold a current MiDAS certificate*

When can I book a minibus?

Bookings need to be made between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm from Monday to Friday. Bookings cannot be made by fax, email or answer phone. Groups can book a minibus as and when required or on a regular basis. In all cases, bookings will be accepted subject to availability of a suitable minibus to meet your needs.

Hounslow Furniture Recycling Project

What is the Hounslow Furniture Recycling Project?

The Hounslow Furniture Recycling Project is a service dedicated to redistributing donated reusable furniture and electrical household appliances (excluding Television sets) to those who may otherwise struggle to afford such items.

Reusable furniture and electrical household appliances are displayed in the showroom in Isleworth. Items on display are available for purchase at very reasonable prices reflecting the socially inclusive focus of the service.

All items supplied by the Hounslow Furniture Recycling Project will be inspected for safety and all electrical items will be PAT tested.

In the UK, Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is a process by which electrical appliances are routinely checked to see if they are safe. Items will be tested for insulation resistance (that no current is passing to the appliance surface) and, if necessary , for earth continuity (that the appliance has a connection to the protective earthing conductor in the fixed wiring).

*All testing is carried out by a certified PAT engineer*
